The Goodnight Star is a foundation paper pieced design from Quiltworx.com.  It utilizes foundation strip piecing techniques taught in many of Judy Niemeyer's patterns on an introductory level.  The pattern is 2-1/2" strip friendly, finishes 96" square, and is a very affordable Quiltworx queen size design. It is an excellent design for beginning quilters because it only requires one technique to complete.  The design requires (48) 2-1/2" strips, then an equal amount of black and white background fabric to achieve the checkerboard effect of the background.  Total yardage is 12-3/4 yard, including binding.  Sew Many Things has selected Tula Pink's True Colors and the Michael Miller Cotton Couture Solid collection to feature this pattern due to its bright, fun, playful, and happy palette that is sure to capture the imagination of your favorite children in your life! 

Our kit includes fabric, pattern, and binding.  It can be purchased with or without the pattern, however, we recommend that if you do not have the pattern with the colorway shown on the coversheet already, you purchase the pattern option for the workshop and to make this quilt.  It will make it much more straightforward to cut, sort, stack, and prepare your fabrics for piecing.

FREE ONLINE CLASS: On December 6th, Judy Niemeyer will hold an online, live workshop for the Goodnight Star, which will be available thereafter on the Quiltworx Facebook page and also on the Quiltworx Youtube channel.  This workshop will run up to 4 hours, and cover everything that a quilter needs to know to make this design!  Follow along with Judy, while she shows you the steps to make this quilt!
