The Niemeyer family has long been a fixture in the Quilting industry. Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx.com, along with her youngest son Billy, owner of the software development company, Giantsource, Inc., combined their unique skills and industry knowledge to create this revolutionary program.

Quiltster enhances the Quilt Planning process and empowers the Quilter.

This simple-to-use platform provides digital versions of consumer-ready quilt patterns used to audition fabric before committing to a final colorway. Quilters of all skill levels find it easier to plan in Quiltster because it allows them the freedom to explore color and focus on being creative. The Digital Quilt Planner, the heart of the program, encourages innovation offering a realistic representation of the completed project to approve before buying supplies.

Meet the Niemeyer Family

Judy Niemeyer
Owner of Quiltworx

Judy is the creator of a series of foundation paper-piecing techniques that helps quilters with minimal previous experience create intricate and heirloom quality quilts. Her patterns support these techniques and with the help of Quiltster, quilters have the ability to go from the planning process through to the finished quilt using unique skills which can be taught over several days.

Growing up in a quilting family gave Judy's youngest son and software developer, Billy, the insight necessary to create a unique program that caters to the needs of quilters. Seeing first-hand the challenges quilters face with the inability to visualize the final project, Billy brought Quiltster to life, forever revolutionizing the quilting industry.

Business Manager of Quiltworx

Judel, Judy's daughter, worked closely with Quiltster's development team to ensure accurate yardage calculations for Quiltster's Quilt Engine. Due to her efforts, Quiltster members can rely on the yardage charts automatically generated for every project.

Pattern Designer at Quiltworx

Brad, Judy's son, developed a unique method to turn Autocad line art into an interactive user experience for Quiltster. This experience allows quilters to easily color predesigned patterns, knowing they will get a true rendition of their project every time.
