Maple Leaf Flurries is a small, introductory foundation paper piecing pattern designed by Quiltworx.com.  In 2023, it went through an update to use 2-1/2" strips and more colors than the original publication.  We have discontinued the original, made a few updates to the papers, and reissued this design.  

For this pattern, it is important to note that (2) 2-1/2” strips, paired up for Fabrics A2 and A3, makes (3) units.  For A1, (1) 3" strip makes (4) blocks. You will need to Unlock this layout in Quiltster using the little lock button at the top of the screen, then choose at least (3) blocks at a time, to play with color and use yardage efficiently.

If you would like to make a larger design, the pattern includes information on Page 10 for increasing the size to various sizes.  We have included a couple layouts for this in Quiltster as well.  You can also purchase the Indian Summer 2023 pattern and explore expansion alternatives there.  Not only are there options for making more blocks, but there are options for turning a smaller quilt on point, then adding a variety of expansion borders to make the quilt larger.
