Judy and Bradley Niemeyer designed the foundation blocks used to make the Country Picnic quilt shown on the cover.  A similar quilt was designed a few years ago called Cabin Fever, which is still on the market and uses a different color approach to this quilt.  To show how dynamic the pattern is, and also publish a larger quilt size, Quiltworx.com decided to publish the Country Picnic pattern.  This pattern was a perfect fit for the Reclaimed West fabric collection designed by Judy and Judel Niemeyer with Timeless Treasures, which is the fabric collection that was used to make the cover quilt.

Remaking the Log Cabin inspired block using the lights and darks in beiges and reds from the Reclaimed West collection enabled us to create the picnic table cloth look of the cover quilt.  We coupled that with the look of sunflowers in the cut out sections inspired by a Country Picnic with a field of sunflowers in the background.

The cover quilt was pieced by Certified Instructor, Lisa McCarthy and quilted by Carrie Zizza.  A special thank you goes out to each of them for helping to bring this quilt to life, including great quilting designs of ropes, stars, and wood grain imprints in the log cabin areas of the quilt.  The creativity and skills of both have resulted in an outstanding example of what this Log Cabin quilt pattern can be and we are excited to show it off in the Reclaimed West fabric line.
