The Kaleidoscope Mixer was designed as a beginner pattern to introduce quilters to paper piecing and constructing an exploded star quilt layout. The project can be made as easy or as challenging as you like through the use of Quiltster. It requires (24) diamond blocks. Quiltworx has over 15 Diamond Blocks compatible with this layout available that can be mixed and matched with others to create a quilt that is unique to you.  If you use Quiltster to create a custom layout that uses more than (3) types of diamonds, you will have some left over.

The Kaleidoscope Mixer Wall quilt requires the purchase of the pattern (introduction booklet) plus additional block designs, sold separately.  

This pattern requires (24) diamonds which means you will need three (3) packages of (8) diamonds.  In addition, you will need one (1) package of group B and one (1) package of group C.  Select from the list of interchangeable block options below. Use the Quilt Planner to view your choices in a project, either alone or with fabric, to see how they look together. Keep in mind that if you use Quiltster to create a custom layout that uses more than (3) types of diamonds, you will have some left over.

The pattern (introduction booklet) includes all of the information that is common to any combination of block designs for this pattern including how to find corrections, general pattern information, supply lists and the final assembly steps (which are the same regardless of how you combine the interchanging blocks).

Once you purchase this pattern, you do not need to purchase it again for future designs of the same size, you need only purchase the block options for a new quilt and reuse the pattern instructions to put it together.
