The Queen Star Mixer requires the purchase of 1 pattern (which is the introduction booklet) plus block designs, sold separately. (scroll down to choose block designs and view quantities required).  

The Queen Star Mixer requires that you create (48) diamonds and a background. The block groups include group A (diamonds, of which you’ll need six packs and they can be the same or different) and group B (background).

You may purchase an expansion border separately, which will get you to 100” x 100”.  This requires the additional purchase of block group C.

The pattern (introduction booklet) includes all of the information that is common to any combination of block designs for this pattern including how to find corrections, general pattern information, supply lists and the final assembly steps (which are the same regardless of how you combine the interchanging blocks).

Once you purchase this pattern, you do not need to purchase it again for future designs of the same size, you need only purchase the block options for a new quilt and reuse the pattern instructions to put it together.
